StorageVault Canada Inc., which operates 216 self-storage facilities throughout the Canadian provinces, has launched FlexSpace Logistics, an e-commerce platform designed to help small businesses store and manage inventory, and handle logistics for last-mile delivery. The portal uses geolocation technology to match customers with the services and storage space they need, connecting them with shipping services and a third-party logistics (3PL) warehousing network, according to a press release.
Users have access to inventory-management software to track their goods and orders. To meet their storage needs, they may be matched with a StorageVault self-storage facility or third-party warehouse, depending on their location and needs. “Connecting businesses to the right solution through our FlexSpace Logistics network, whether through our own space or through our vetted 3PL partners, allows us to serve businesses from small to large that have been underserved in the space,” said Lucas Koren, who’s leading the venture.
“We have experienced high demand for a comprehensive business package that provides services for businesses of all sizes,” said Iqbal Khan, chief financial officer. “By leveraging our 13 million square feet of space in 210-plus communities across Canada, FlexSpace Logistics is a perfectly suited last-mile solution. Our platform provides solutions to businesses in an accelerated e-commerce environment where warehouse space is constrained and the efficiency of last-mile space is a priority.”
StorageVault operates self-storage facilities in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan. It’s owned portfolio of 175 properties comprises more than 9.5 million rentable square feet.
