Store Space Self Storage, which operates more than 55 properties in 17 states, partnered with YouTubers the “Give Back Guys” (GBG) last month to help needy residents in Chino Hills, Calif. The group paid for groceries for multiple unsuspecting shoppers at a local market, according to a press release. The whole experience was captured on video and posted to the Store Space YouTube channel.
“Watching the video, getting to see people in shock and gratitude, knowing we made their day a little brighter is priceless,” said Michelle Wight-Sands, the storage operator’s vice president of corporate development.
Store Space aims to support the areas in which it does business. The company sponsors several national charities and events throughout the year, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Toys for Tots, Wounded Warrior Project and others. “Our care-culture philosophy is what drives and motivates us at Store Space. We are dedicated to giving and supporting our customers and our communities,” Wight-Sands said. "We are constantly looking for impactful ways to assist local neighborhoods and look forward to planning more 'Give Back' events in the future.”
“It's rare to find a company passionate about giving back, and we found that every step of the way with Store Space,” said GBG Co-Founder Brandon Hartt, who’s featured in the video. “Seeing what they have already done for so many communities excited us for the opportunity to partner together on a giveback to help individuals during these trying times.”
Launched last year by three friends in Southern California, GBG is about “paying it forward,” engaging in charitable acts such as buying food for the homeless and tipping employees at fast-food restaurants. All its charitable videos are recorded and posted to the group’s YouTube page.
Based in Winter Garden, Fla., Store Space operates an owned and managed portfolio comprising more than 25.3 million net rentable square feet of self-storage.
